Logotyp Interreg Czechy - Polska, współfinansowane przez UE

CZ.11.02.01/00/23_004/0000142

The main goal of the project is to boost the tourist appeal and visitor numbers in the border region — especially in Svitavy and the village of Wambierzyce (Radków municipality), as well as the whole area between them.

One of the key ideas is to create a shared tourist product. By linking nativity scenes along a virtual route, the project aims to attract more visitors and encourage them to explore other related places across the region.

The project also focuses on:

  • making this heritage more accessible to a wider audience (barrier-free access, new exhibitions),
  • protecting cultural heritage (including improving the condition of the sites),
  • and expanding the tourist offer in the cross-border region.

Project outcomes include:

  • exhibition at the Mechanical Nativity Scene Museum in Svitavy
  • exhibition of a mechanical nativity scene and nativity-making in Wambierzyce
  • full renovation of the building housing the exhibition in Wambierzyce
  • audio guide for the exhibition
  • creation of a virtual route connecting Svitavy and Wambierzyce
  • joint marketing and promotional campaign
  • final conference

The project is co-funded by the European Union under the INTERREG Czechia–Poland 2021–2027 programme.

Planned completion date: 31 December 2028

The Moving

Nativity Scene

The nativity scene, dating from the second half of the 19th century, is located in a building at the foot of the Calvary. Its construction was initiated by Longin Wittig. This exceptionally talented man was born in the village of Góra Św. Anny, near Nowa Ruda, in 1824.
